Before you have treatment, you’ll visit us for a consultation. This will allow us to assess your teeth and give you an idea of how bright they’ll be following the teeth whitening procedure. The number of oxygen ions present, as well as how long the whitening gel is in contact with your teeth, will both make a difference to the outcome.
If you avoid eating too many foods and drinks known to cause tooth staining, you can expect to maintain your whiter teeth for up to 12 months after treatment.
You’ll apply the bleaching agent to the custom-made trays that we’ll make for you, and wear it overnight in the comfort of your own home. We’ll guide you through the process when you visit us in the surgery beforehand to have impressions of your teeth made.
You can expect your teeth to be visibly whiter 5-14 days after using a home teeth whitening kit.
Teeth whitening treatment is not recommended for pregnant people. There may be other exceptions, but until you visit us for your initial consultation, we won’t be able to give you an idea of whether it’s suitable for you.
